CIVTA Meeting Minutes

There were 10 members and guests present.

Treasurer's report was $8200. Jen also reported that we received half of our deposit back from Prairie Meadows which was $250.

Erica was under the weather so Vice-president Mary Stritzel conducted the meeting.

The Entertainment books have arrived. There are also posters and displays available. Anyone getting books signed out the amount they were taking. Books sell for $20 of which we keep $10.

Fall Conference will be held on Oct. 10 from 2 - 8 pm at the ARL. Several sponsors have contributed money and door prizes and a few more are expected to contribute. Registration brochures will be out soon.

The IVMA meeting will be held Sept. 17-18 in Ames. Erica would welcome some help at the CIVTA booth.

A registration form for the “Iowans for Animal Welfare” 2009 Conference was passed around. This event will take place on Oct. 16-17 at the ARL.

Nominations for new officers were held. Nominations thus far are Leslie Anderson for Historian and Jeannie Stall for Secretary. DeeDee offered to tentatively consider the nomination for president. Nominations can also be made during the Sept. meeting when elections will take place.

Speaker

Our speaker for the evening was Carol Berhagen. She is a former veterinary technician who is now the sales rep for Petzlife. This company primarily sells animal dental cleaning and anti-anxiety products as well as shampoos and conditioners.
